Another Day
(Written on the shores of Lake Manapouri in New Zealand, one of the most beautiful places in the world, while on a four week vacation.  Guess I had to be far enough away from the daily grind to write about it.)

Push the snooze down twice
Throw the covers back
Stumble four steps from
The bed into the bath
Wash my hair and pull
A towel from off the rack
Grab a shirt and pants
Head down that old cement path

Another day, just another day
Just want to make it through
Another day
And if I ever prayed
You know what I would say
Help me make tomorrow
More than just making it through
Another day

Stop and eat my lunch
A sandwich, chips and some fruit
Get my coat and keys
Lock up my desk and go
Drive my car back home
Along that same old route
Fire up the microwave
Sit down and watch a TV show

Another day, just another day
Just want to make it through
Another day
And if I ever prayed
You know what I would say
Help me make tomorrow
More than just making it through
Another day

When's the last time I watched
The sunrise or walked in the rain
What's the last thing I did
I couldn't wait to do again?

Another day, just another day
Just want to make it through
Another day
And if I ever prayed
You know what I would say
Help me make tomorrow
More than just making it through
Another day
