You're Gone
(I wrote this song for someone a few days before I met them.  At least when I met her a few days after I wrote it she really embraced it and thanked me for capturing what her heart was going through.  For Debi in Malaysia.)

Summer's gone, you are gone
I know which one
Makes the nights so long
Bird's have flown
You're somewhere on your own
I know which one
Leaves my days without song

And I can't quite comprehend
Woke up by myself again
You were here, now you're gone
Life's too dear to just be holding on
But you're gone

Find myself wondering
If this will ever end
'Cause it's all that I can do

Keep on waking every morning
Facing the sunrise
Stare into another day
Without looking into your eyes
Life has changed
In ways I hadn't dreamed
I loved you in ways I'd never seen

And I can't quite comprehend
Woke up by myself again
You were here, now you're gone
Life's too dear to just be holding on
But you're gone
