Coming Home
(Written while living in Malaysia.  A little bit homesick, but more fascinated by the different cultures and people we experienced.  Life is amazing. I wonder why we make it so complicated?)

Did you ever have the daybreak
Crash across your eyes
Hit you like the morning
Comes as a complete surprise
Did you ever see the wind blow
The last leaf from a tree
Look into the eyes of someone
Quite as lost as me

I know I'm coming home
I know I'm coming home

Did you ever see an oak tree
Look up into the sky
Wonder when it would grow up
Worry when it would die
Did you ever hear an old stone
Anchored on the shore
As the waves crashed down upon it
Scream, "I can't take it anymore"

I know I'm coming home
I know I'm coming home

Did you ever hear a mountain
Wail against the rain
In the cold and bitter winter
Cry out in pain
Did you ever see a cold brook
Running between its mossy banks
Wonder where it was going
Not know who to thank

I know I'm coming home
I know I'm coming home
